Fresh Forage for Rabbits and Guinea Pigs – Natural Goodness

For over 20 years I have picked fresh forage for our own rabbits and guinea pigs, and hundreds of holiday guests that have stayed at Hop Inn over the past 10 years.  It’s been a lot of foraging, and frankly enjoyable.

We are very lucky to live in the heart of the countryside where there is plenty of organic forage.  I have found the best places over the years, away from  pesky chemicals.

Included in your forage box:

Fresh Hazel – Super for helping to wear down those consistently growing teeth.  Great medicinal properties to help keep your friends in tip top condition.  It is worth noting dried hazel has no nutritional value, but it’s still good for teeth, and a good boredom breaker.

Fresh Willow – Full of antioxidants too.

Dandelions – Not only a favourite for rabbits and guinea pigs they promote digestion, respiratory health, healthy liver, heart, and are a great body tonic.  They are rich in calcium, potassium, iron and beta-carotent.  Dandelions contain more iron that spinnach and more beta-carotene than carrots!  They contain phosphorous, zinc and magnesium – it’s little wonder they love them.   Rabbits and guinea pigs automatically know what’s good for them.

Plantain – It’s high in fibre and excellent for the digestive system – it’s another favourite!

Cow Parsley – The leaves and stems have an anti-inflamatory, antibacterial, and antiseptic properties.

Hawthorn – Lots of flavonoids and antioxidants, which is good for blood circulation.

Chickweed – Contains many nutrients including vitamin C, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, and magnesium.

There will be other goodies in your box – ALL safe, edible and tasty.

My Dwarf lop rabbit loves to sleep inside his hop house It’s the perfect size for my dwarf lop to stretch out and fall asleep inside, he even flops over on his side as he feels so safe inside the box. I sometime pop a treat on the top to encourage him to jump in the top too. Well built and looks lovely.

Great product for rabbits Great hide out for my Rabbit, she loves it! It has 2 entrance/exits which you can easily add a standard tunnel to. It’s a perfect addition for both indoor and outdoor space.

Perfect indoor hideaway for rabbits Only used indoors. My bunnies love hiding away and this is a permanent solution to the cardboard boxes I was using. The two entrances allow for ease of access from anywhere in the room. They both love to sit on top and it's great to hide food to encourage foraging and for enrichment activities. Would recommend.

My rabbits favourite hide Very sturdy, my rabbit sits on the top as well ,colour is faded which is fine, it’s not waterproof , would recommend this for in the house or outside but inside a bigger enclosure but would varnish it if it’s for outside .

I love it I absolutely love this. Bought it for my two bunny's and they sleep in it, clime on top of it, run in and out. The quality and finish is great, looks better in person than online phoos.

6 years on & still going strong! So, my housevbun has been using this for nearly 6 years....and it's still really great! There is some fading of the colour, especially on the top but that's kinda neither here nor there. I wouldn't use it outside exposed to the elements but I don't think that's the intention. He's tried to have a nibble on the wood a number of times but it's pretty tough & he loses interest quickly. It's great place for him to snooze in when he wants some time alone (or to hide!) or to sit on top of and just chill. He's a Dutch - so a dwarf breed, about 4lbs and it's absolutely fine for him space-wise. I wouldn't expect a much bigger bun to be able to use it comfortably, but for him it's great.6 years on & absolutely no complaints!
