NEW Bunny Beds for Guinea Pigs too: Why I Couldn’t Resist Designing a Sleigh Bed for Your Small Pets
I’ll be honest—I’ve seen quite a few bunny beds over the years, but I absolutely love a classic sleigh bed! There is just something charming about seeing a small pet lounging on a lovely piece of furniture.
But making a quality pet bed takes more than just a good sketch. It takes thought, testing, and an understanding of how they behave.
Design Time: Asking the Hard Questions
When I sat down to design these new beds, I put myself in the paws of your rabbits and guinea pigs. I asked myself the essential questions every protective pet owner worries about:
- Space: Can two standard bunnies fit comfortably? Can a group of guinea pigs snuggle together if they choose?
- Accessibility: Can they hop in and out safely without injuring themselves?
- Traps: Will their tiny feet get stuck anywhere, or could they get trapped under the bed?
- The Chew Test: If they chew it (and let’s be honest, they absolutely can and will!), is the material 100% safe for them?
Pet safety is always my absolute first priority. Having loved and cared for my own rabbits and guinea pigs for over 20 years—and having looked after hundreds of them 24/7 for 12 years when I ran Hop Inn, my rabbit and guinea pig holiday home—I know exactly what can go wrong. I designed these beds to make sure it won’t.
